Wireless Pet Fences are fantastic products. Plug them in, adjust the level, put on the collar and it’s all ready to go!

Because these units transmit without wires, they are subject to some limitations. (Have you ever wondered why those cell phone towers are so tall?)

Top ten reasons why you shouldn’t buy a Wireless Dog Fence.

  1. Your house has metal siding
  2. You have a metal roof
  3. The lot is wooded, or has dense tree cover
  4. Your home is a log home
  5. You need to contain more than two dogs
  6. A circular containment pattern is no good for you
  7. You want to contain more than 2½ acres (½ acre for some models)
  8. You need more than 180 ft containment distance from the base station (90 ft for some models)
  9. There is a major metal structure in the containment area
  10. You live in a Faraday Cage (unlikely, but we were one short of 10!)

A Wireless Pet Fence is still a great product. To find out more, visit the frequestly asked questions page at the MuttFence.com retail store.

The product you are looking for is called the PetSafe RFA-67D-11 6 Volt Lithium Battery which is sold as a two-pack, and is original manufacturer’s equipment.

We know that’s quite a mouthful, so we sell it as a PetSafe Wireless Fence Battery!

A wireless dog fence describes the physical characteristics of the fence – it has no wires. Traditionally, electric dog fences have been wired. You lay out a cable around your perimeter and bury it a few inches in the ground. These fences are very versatile in that you can shape the containment area in any way, but they can be quite complex to install, unless you are rather handy.

Wireless dog fences are also called wire free dog fences.  When somebody refers to an “Instant Fence“, they are normally talking about a particular model – the PetSafe Instant Wireless Containment System. This is a PetSafe Wireless Fence which is the best selling wireless fence on the market.

The PetSafe PIF-300 Wireless Instant Fence contains up to a circular ½ acre, and is adjustable for range.  It installs in seconds and is a great choice for easy, fast, reliable containment.

Question:

Why is it that you don’t sell, or label your products “Invisible Fence”

Answer:

We sell technology that is identical to Invisible Fence, however, Invisible Fence is a registered trade name for companies that are approved to install and maintain an Electric Dog Fence for you. They supply the fence, installation and labor. So, we kind of sell invisible fences, but we can’t call them that and you install our fences yourself.

If you find the prospect of installing an electric dog fence to be too daunting, why not check out a Wireless Dog Fence? Great containment features and you are up and running in minutes.

OK, so you’re on the fence about whether to, well … get a fence. They cost money and take some time install. Hey, why bother, maybe everything will just work out. Here are ten reasons why you need to keep your dog inside your own yard, with an Electric or Wireless Dog Fence.

10. Sure, your dog is cute, but your neighbor doesn’t necessarily think so.
9. Your neighbor is getting fed up with cleaning up your dog’s mess from his yard.
8. He chases the delivery guy and the mailman doesn’t think he’s cute
7. If you think your dog’s expensive now, think about potential vet bills.
6. Have you got a quote for a wood fence?
5. Do you like the view from your yard?
4. Out there he could get into pesticides or worse.
3. Cars are dangerous.
2. He could bite somebody.
1. Your dog is part of the family – keep him safe.

So – keep him your own yard.  It’s the responsible thing to do for you, your neighbors … and Fido!
